The project involved complete ground-up construction, from clearing and preparing the challenging site to handing over the finished building to the homeowner.
About the Project
The homeowner wanted to add a large hobby barn that would provide substantial garage and second-floor space while fitting naturally into the wooded surroundings of the Sandy property.

Building on a Challenging Wooded Site
Site preparation was one of the most demanding parts of the project due to the property’s difficult conditions. Once construction began, another major challenge was safely erecting the 32-foot-tall ridge posts required for the barn’s structure.
The completed building was designed to feel at home among the trees rather than out of place on the property.
The Finished Hobby Barn
The finished barn includes a 36′ × 36′ garage on the first floor, an equally sized 36′ × 36′ second floor, and a 12′ × 36′ covered area.
Cedar siding and a metal roof give the building a natural Northwest appearance that complements its wooded Sandy setting.
The project also caught the attention of Barn Pros during construction. They were impressed enough with the work to invite Rydman Enterprises to travel around the country contracting their barn builds. Rydman Enterprises declined the opportunity in order to remain focused on serving homeowners and property owners in the local area.
